Bakken Bears were an offspring of IK Skovbakken Basketball Department and serves as a superstructure on this. Skovbakken Basketball was started in 1962 as a continuation of Aarhus Basketball Association (ABF), which was founded in 1953. The club has since won the danish championship 14 times
